**Bombay High Court Orders CBI Probe into Death of Sushant Singh Rajput’s Former Manager Disha Salian**

The Bombay High Court on Tuesday directed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the probe into the death of Disha Salian, who had been the personal manager of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Salian was found dead in a hotel room in Mumbai on 13 May 2022, a case that was initially handled by the Maharashtra Police’s anti‑organised crime wing. Over the past two years, the investigation has been clouded by accusations of procedural lapses, alleged political interference, and a series of public petitions demanding a more thorough inquiry.

In its order, the bench emphasized that “no one must be treated as an accused unless the investigation establishes a prima facie case.” The court mandated that the CBI file a fresh FIR within 30 days and submit a status report to the judges by 30 September 2024. The family of Disha Salian welcomed the decision, describing it as a “long‑awaited step toward truth and justice.” In contrast, the legal counsel for Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Aaditya Thackeray warned that the case could become a “political tool” if handled without due diligence, urging investigators to focus solely on factual evidence. The CBI, for its part, has pledged to conduct an “independent, impartial, and transparent” investigation, signaling that the probe will now move beyond state‑level scrutiny and potentially reshape public confidence in high‑profile criminal inquiries.
